I like to play some older maps and I hate how I accept to change peel everytime I play Minecraft version 1.3-one.7.10, especially if I played a 1.8 one and went to ane.three-one.vii.8 and forced with a layerless skin and have to wait an 60 minutes for pare alter depending on the version, is there any way to flatten a skin or convert it to 1.7.
Someone told me Novaskin.me had a i.8 to i.7 converter only I'm still waiting for directions for the location of such a matter, information technology may not even be at that place anymore I'm not sure. SkinConverter programme only managed to remove the 1.8 layer, but non flatten information technology, I found one on Reddit only the download file is gone then it's no use at all. I've already checked Nova Pare for a few minutes and Googled how to convert skins, only to no avail other than the two failures with the converters.
A chat mod on PlanetMinecraft provided some form of help, I'g trying to figure information technology and I'm stumped I tried looking on the program and figuring it out simply I'm completely confused, it'southward very enigmatic for me. I atleast accept the skin I want but now I'grand liking some other one, but I would like to know how to work the method of converting a 1.8 skin to i.7 which would have to be washed via flattening the torso layer onto the body, (shouldn't I be asking this on the MCSkin 3D, I'll try it here anyway). Though, Minecraft Reddit was completely unhelpful, downvoting me when I'k having a legitimate trouble (though that always happens to me), telling me information technology should be easy via cropping information technology altogether or telling me skins don't thing, I didn't ask for opinions.

Yep at that place is a way if you take the 1.viii version of your skin and go to one-time.minecraft.novaskin.me then upload the 1.eight version of that skin it should convert to 1.seven.10 properly unless it's an alex skin (if information technology is an alex peel it will take black lines on the dorsum of the arms and the arms pixels will be switched around) if you have anymore questions feel complimentary to ask

I did practise that and all it did was remove the layer altogether.

Skins are not that circuitous and you can easily edit them yourself in an prototype editor (I made my own skin this manner); to convert a 1.viii+ skin you just need to move the 2nd layer over the first (with transparency; MSPaint will non work because of this) and keep only one side (left or right arm/leg, which are the same in pre-1.8 skins). Here is an case of what a pare file looks similar; it is like shooting fish in a barrel to come across how it is put together if you compare it to my avatar:
The Wiki has examples showing what the unlike parts are for both pre-1.8 and 1.8+ skins:
https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Skin#Creating_a_skin
Note: 1.8+ skins volition work in older versions if you upload them to Minecraft.net (I'thousand not sure how they are reformatted, if they just include the original pinnacle half or combine the layers), but if you utilise them in a resource pack to replace the default pare (this will only work if at that place is no peel for the game to download or you are offline) they will non work in older versions (versions prior to ane.3 require that you lot replace the default peel, which is named char.png instead of steve.png, since the old skin servers no longer work).

I tried doing that but when I moved the layer with Paint.NET information technology withal had the transparency checkers even though I used the magic wand and fabricated it invisible, only so it wouldn't do that. As well, 1.8 skins exercise work in some older version I'm not sure which merely it would just exist without a layer, as I made my choice of a 1.8 peel afterward I played some pre-1.half-dozen/1.7 maps.

The only problem that would arise if you converted a current skin file to an quondam skin file
is if your skin had differences on the left and right side.
One-time skins but accept a right arm and right leg, then just mirror that for the left side.
This isn't a problem for near skins since most skins are vertically symmetrical, simply if yours isn't, you'll need to suit.

Yeah, if information technology's unsymmetrical you could just accept one limb repeat, like someone had washed that with the Eagle Kachina peel and placed the cherry-red pattern on both legs, the skin had a red design for the left and a blank i for the right. Merely, the other 1 I used instead the bengal tiger one by the same creator has no unsymmetrical limbs except for a minor pixel changes on the top back of the arm, where on i side a stripe connects and other it doesn't and it's only layer is for a tail.

I managed to discover help on the comments to the MCSkin3D PlanetMinecraft folio, I select the stamp and choose the biggest size, than copy the bodywear piece by piece and pasting information technology onto the skin, erasing the bodywear and any asymmetrical limb(s), saving the skin when I'm doing that and converting it to minimal, Drzzter didn't tell me near the stamper but he seemed to exist completely correct besides that.
